1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Langlio Ltd (“Langlio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of the Langlio mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Services”). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you are at least 18 years old. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Description of service
Langlio is a conversation-first language-learning service. It uses artificial intelligence to let you practise real conversations, write a diary, save phrases, and track your progress across a range of languages and everyday scenarios. AI-generated content is provided for language-learning and practice purposes only. It may contain mistakes and is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, certified translator, or professional advice of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features from time to time as the Services evolve.
3. Subscription and payment
Langlio is a paid subscription service. Access is offered for £9.99 per month, billed through the app store or payment provider you subscribe with. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time through your app store or account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
- Prices may change. We will give reasonable advance notice of any price change before it applies to you.
- Payments are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or our payment processor. Refunds are governed by applicable law and the policy of the platform you purchased through. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the Services for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose, or in breach of these Terms.
- Submit content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes the rights of others, or share personal information about other people without their permission.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the Services or their underlying systems.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that put the Services or other users at risk.
5. Intellectual property
The Services, including the Langlio name, logo, software, design, and content we provide, are owned by Langlio Ltd or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for your own language learning. You retain ownership of the content you create, such as diary entries and conversation input, and you grant us the limited rights needed to operate and improve the Services as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the Services, including their accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated language content may be inaccurate or incomplete, and we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Langlio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that if you are a consumer you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
